What is Blogger? Pros and Cons of using Blogger

Blogging is trending. Lots of people earn a chunk with it - and when it comes to blogging, Blogger (also known as Blogspot), is one of the popular choices for writers. But it has its pros and cons.

People, who are new to blogging might be thinking what is Blogger?

So it is a free platform by Google, where you can write and share your knowledge, basically on any subject with other people - or you can use it as an online diary: either public or private.

Here are some positive and challenging points for Blogger:

+1. Free Free Free: Blogger is completely free. Yes, you had it right! It is free, which means you do not need to pay anyone for anything. Blogger provides you with a free hosting platform. Not only that, but it also provides you with an URL, which is a subdomain of Blogger. This URL comes with a blogspot.com.
But the good part is moving forward you can add a separate domain.

+2. Security: When it's come to security we know we can trust Google. Blogger is owned by Google hence the security is pretty good. You can access the blog only with your email ID.

Tip: Don't forget to turn on 2FA on your email.

+3. No extra charge for bandwidth: Most websites or hosting providers charge you for bandwidth. In simple terms, if your website gets visited by 100 users per day versus 10000 users per day the charge will be different. But Blogger doesn't have such criteria. You can have as much genuine and unique traffic

+4. Free SSL: Blogger also helps you by giving free SSL. That means "HTTPS". Just like our website ;)

-1. Customization:  You cannot fully customize the Blogpost. Although you can use pre-built templates they are not fully customizable. To customize to a higher extent you need to have a piece of good technical knowledge.

-2. SEO: Search engine optimization is an important process to increase your views, but as a blogger, you can't use it properly.

-3. AdSense revenue: If you are self-hosted, you will get more money from Google AdSense, but since the Blogger is hosted by Google, you will be a little less (as per our experience). Also, the blog has a minimum content requirement, which you have to fulfil for Google Adsense.
